Connected Text boxes

Hello-

I have a letter that has variable on the bottom of page one that needs to flow to the top of page 2. Is there a way to connect the text boxes so the overflow from page 1 goes to page 2? The number of words will change on page 1 based on the length of the variable. Name 1 would stop at the word "year's" and then continue on page 2. Name 2 would stop stop at the word "donation" and then continue on page 2.

Name 1: Jo, thank you so much for your donation. Last year's donations helped up build a pool house, buy a van for transport, and covered the tuition for five children.

Name 2: Allan and Sky, thank you so much for your donation. Last year's donations helped up build a pool house, buy a van for transport, and covered the tuition for five children.

Is this possible?

I think you're overthinking this. All you need to do to flow text from one frame to another is to use the Connect Text Frames tool in the FusionPro tools in Acrobat. Select the tool, click on the first frame (the one you want to flow from), then you can scroll or navigate to the second frame (the one you want to flow to), and click on it. This works even if the two frames are on different pages.

The other option, if the overflowing text may need multiple pages, is to use an actual Overflow page. Both of these options are described in more detail in the User Guide.

As far as breaking up the text differently based on variable content, that's basically the whole point (or at least one of the big points) of VDP in the first place. But you shouldn't need to calculate specific places where text will break. You probably just need to adjust the width and height of the "from" frame to get as much content in there as you want.

That's about as specific as I can be without seeing the collected job files.
