  1. HI Dan, Thanks for the quick response! I'm not sure I understand this rule. Here is more information on the job. This will be a variable business card on the Digital Storefront. The customer will have 14 background logos to choose from a drop-down. The problem is, the text frames have various positions based on the background logo. All logos will use a specific text frame; "A", "B", or "C". I'm having a hard time writing a rule to suppress the other text frames and linking the logo graphics to the correct text frame. I apologize if I made this more confusing. Example Below: Logo Graphic Names sports medicine.pdf neurosurgery.pdf pain management.pdf primary care.pdf All of these logos will use text frame "B" how do I suppress text frame "A" and "C"? Thanks for your help!!!
  2. Hi, I need help with a js rule to suppress multiple text frames, based on 14 different logos. The text frames change position depending on which logo is used. Is there a way to combine these logos into groups? (See below) 9 logos = text frame A 4 logos = text frame B 1 logo = text frame C Any suggestions? Please let me know if you need any other info. Thanks, J.Preve
  3. Sorry for the confusion, really thought I was using the right jargon. I needed a drop-down list for EFI's Digital Storefront (DSF, I've seen this abbreviated elsewhere on the forum.) "Pick-List" is what fusion pro calls a drop-down list in the define HTML form. I wanted a drop-down list for phone labels (Direct, Cell, Main, and Fax), so the customer could choose their own label on their business card. (see sample versions from original post). I really tried to get it to work using a text resource, graphic resource, but nothing seem to work in DSF, so I just used a text box instead, so the customer can type their own label. The Drop-down would be a better option on the web-form, but I ran out of time on the project. Really appreciate the response. Thanks, jpreve
  4. I need help setting up a business card for DSF. The customer needs to pick their own label for each phone number. The problem is two numbers are left and the other two are on the right, and labels for all numbers are lined up underneath each other. Please see the attached samples to get a better understanding. Sample 1 all numbers + labels http://forums.pti.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1559&d=1472235975 Sample 2 all numbers + labels except for the Cell http://forums.pti.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1560&d=1472235981 Sample 3 Cell and Main only (Direct & Fax suppressed) http://forums.pti.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1561&d=1472235989 Sample 4 Cell and Direct only (this is where it got tricky for me) Direct number + Label moved over to the right side. http://forums.pti.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1562&d=1472235994 This is why I would like to have a pick list for the customer to choose where they want their phone + label. What is the best way to set this up? Sorry I'm not JS savvy, which is why I always need your help. Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks! jpreve
  5. This works great! One more issue: What's the best way to keep the phone numbers centered between the bottom of the logo and top of the address? I'm using the paragraph formatting in the variable text editor but it's not centering it correctly. Thanks for all your help!!! JP
  6. I'm not sure I understand how to write the top line rule as a text rule. Can you help with this rule too? I'm a little confused on the difference between the top line rule vs. the bottom line with graphic rule? Sorry.
  7. That leads to another problem, I have another business card similar to it with a logo on top of the line. See attached sample. I would be fine using a graphics resource, if I knew how to keep a character limitation on the titles. There is another problem with these business cards; the phone numbers need to stay center between the bottom of the golf logo and the top of the address. For the other card the phone numbers need to stay center from the bottom line separator and the top of the address. Any suggestions on how to do this? I've been trying to wrap my head around this one for awhile now. Samples attached: Thanks for any help!!!golf 1 line title.pdf golf 2 line title.pdf
  8. FusionPro 9.3.6 | MAC OS X | DSF 9.0 I need help writing a js rule for a business card in DSF. The business card has line separators above and below the following variables: Full Name Title Line 1 Title Line 2 Email Address I need the line separators to open and close based on the title fields. The customer would like the copy to cut off if the title is too long to fit within these 2 lines. I would like the title field to be a multiple line field, instead of 2 separate fields, and allow the line graphic to change based on using 1 or 2 lines. Please see samples: 1 title line & 2 title line. Please let me know if you need any more info. Thanks! 1 title line.pdf 2 title line.pdf
  9. That worked! Thanks! I really appreciate your help!!! jpreve
  10. I need help on a js rule to make the last name field plural for a variable postcard. Sample Copy: "The <Smiths> can get $25.00 Off." (s added) "The <Joneses> can get $25.00 Off." (es added) I need to add an "s" to the last name field, but if the last name ends in s, x, ch, sh, or z it needs an "es". Please Help. Sincerely, jpreve
  11. This works great!!! Thank You so much!!! Really appreciate your help!!! jpreve
  12. I was only referring to the simplicity of selecting a screen tint of a Pantone in Indesign is much easier than Fusion Pro. I do wish Fusion Pro had a Pantone Library... The code works great for the phone number line, but how do I change the other two separators to 50% of Pantone 404 C? (Refer to the lines in bold). FYI: I'm still very new at JS, forgive me if you already answered this. 123 Generic Street | Sample City, ST 00000 O 000.000.0000 | F 000.000.0000 | M 000.000.0000 email@address website one | website two Thanks Again for the help! jpreve
  13. Hi! I find it kind of funny that the easiest functions of formatting a business card using Indesign are the hardest using fusion pro. I need help, I’m out of ideas!!! I have a 1/1 (PANTONE 404 C) business card with a separator between addresses & city, websites, and phone numbers. Some of the separators are static and some are variable, but all use 50% of PANTONE 404 C. (The phone labels (O,F,M) also use this percentage.) I need the phone labels + the separators to suppress if empty. These business cards are going to DSF. Examples Below: Three Phone Numbers: 123 Generic Street | Sample City, ST 00000 O 000.000.0000 | F 000.000.0000 | M 000.000.0000 email@address website one | website two Two Phone Numbers: 123 Generic Street | Sample City, ST 00000 O 000.000.0000 | F 000.000.0000 email@address website one | website two One Phone Number: 123 Generic Street | Sample City, ST 00000 O 000.000.0000 email@address website one | website two Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, jpreve
  14. Still doesn't work. I'm still getting a bullet at the end of the line, (behind fax) and "<br>" is showing up in the preview. Also, the bullets are not changing to PANTONE 201. I can't believe formatting a business card can be so complex. Let's start over: My card should view like the following samples: All 4 numbers used: Office: (000) 000-0000 • Cell: (000) 000-0000 Fax: (000) 000-0000 • Toll-Free: 1-800-000-000 ext.0000 No Cell: (if all 3 numbers do not fit on one line than it needs to go the next line, with no bullet in front or end of the line.) Office: (000) 000-0000 • Fax: (000) 000-0000 Toll-Free: 1-800-000-000 ext.0000 No Fax: (same as previous sample.) Office: (000) 000-0000 • Cell: (000) 000-0000 Toll-Free: 1-800-000-000 ext.0000 No Toll-Free or ext: (Add a bullet before Fax, and No bullet after Fax) Office: (000) 000-0000 • Cell: (000) 000-0000 • Fax: (000) 000-0000 FYI: The Toll-Free number is going to be a pick list in digital storefront, with 4 numbers to choose from, and there will be a separate field for the ext.#. Please let me know if you need anymore info. Really appreciate your help! Sincerely, jpreve
