  1. I did... I didn't get anywhere with that, so thought I'd turn to the forum.
  2. Well... long story. I'll try to make it short but informative. Having issues with Acrobat. Last update for some reason decided to not show ruler guide previews anymore which I REALLY need. Contact Adobe support. They say uninstall and reinstall. Keep in mind I JUST USED FusionPro VDP ver 10.1.11 in Acrobat DC 2021 YESTERDAY. Was working fine. Sooooo, I uninstall and reinstall, not realizing it would WIPE all my 3rd party installs. Ok so I think no prob, I'll just reinstall them all. Two of them worked fine (both of those were legacy programs from 2018), but not FusionPro. Nope. It said Acrobat was not installed on my computer, which it is. We haven't updated in some time (post covid - expenses have to be limited - just now getting back up and running) and are still running ver 10.14.5 on our Mac. So I'm told to downgrade Acrobat to DC 2017 since FPro 10.1.11 doesn't support 2021 (even though it was working fine on 2021 - see above). I do that. I install FusionPro VDP 10.1.11 again. Says it installed fine. Open Acrobat DC 2017. FusionPro is NOT THERE. Try rebooting. Try making sure FPro is registered. Yep. All checks out. Still no FusionPro. PLEASE HELP. I have a RUSH job that requires FusionPro. Ugh!
  3. Hi. I'm revisiting this same exact scenario. I tried importing from FusionPro. The colors do NOT come over. I tried exporting from InDesign. I see no FusionPro palette there. When I said "I tried that" that means I tried all that you suggested (I assumed that was clear). The "document" meaning the pdf file I'm trying to match the colors for (I thought that was clear too). I said the Pantone color book (uncoated) "in the color picker section of FusionPro" - not sure why you're asking me "where?". I can't get the color PANTONE 662 C to come up in the Advanced>Colors tab when I create a new color, no matter what I do (according to ALL of your original suggestions). I even tried converting the file to CMYK from Illustrator (the native file) and creating a new color with the same mixture as the blue that's there in the PDF file, but when I compose it, the new blue that I created in FusionPro somehow shifts to a different CMYK mix and doesn't match the PDF blue anymore. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've spent 2 hours trying to fix this and it's ridiculous.
  4. Ok I tried that, but it doesn't import any colors (Pantone 662C is in the document, but does not import that color). I'm not sure I know what you mean by FusionPro "template". I'm using Acrobat DC. I'd like to be able to access a Pantone color book in the color picker section of FusionPro like I do now with the Pantone uncoated book that's there. How do I do that?
  5. How do I add a Pantone color book to FusionPro VDP Creator? I have an uncoated book that I think I added, but do not recall how to do that! Help?
  6. I tried to search forums but cannot find my answer so apologies if it's out there and I didn't see it! I have a variable data field where the name or company name is sometimes very short or sometimes pretty long. I'd like to be able to have the size adjust accordingly (without going TOO large), or wrap on two lines if necessary. Say I have a field called "vdata". I imagine I'd do something like if vdata is more than 50 characters, then wrap, else leave on one line, along with some other copyfit command that will adjust the size of the type so it looks decent without going too large on the short names? Thanks!
  7. I need a rule for adding a hyphen to a +4 - I have separate columns for the zip code - the zip in one and the +4 in another. Some have the +4 and some don't. I need to add a hyphen to the ones that do have +4 but NO hyphen to the ones that don't.
  8. I've looked and looked and cannot find any pantone colors available to add to the color library. Am I looking in the wrong place? I've gone to Advanced>Color and looked everywhere there and cannot find anything. I'm using the Mac version. Help?
  9. Ok I figured out what I did wrong… Now… if I have to split tray 1 into two sections, how would I modify the rule to do that? I have a field called CTN_NO for the tray, and then there's another field called PKG_NO_CTN that has the tray count. In this list, The tray count (not the tray number) changes to 2 and starts the piece count all over again.
  10. Hi! This may sound dumb, but how do you make a CallBack rule (OnRecordStart) activate? I don't see it in the database fields, which is usually where a rule is, no? I tried composing, but didn't see any difference in my stacks. My understanding was that it would create a break between trays, right? It's not doing that. I double checked the rule and it's valid and correct. Help?
  11. I'm hoping there is a way to condense two areas of type (out of four) that is variable numbering on a piece I'm doing... the font does not offer a condensed version, and I really don't want to have to reduce the point size. I'd like to condense the font by 70%. Anyone help?
  12. Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can go online for training on javascript for FusionPro? On the site there are videos for using the switch wizards, etc. but nothing on empty rules. I know how to use the wizards and switch rules, etc. but when it comes to the more complicated rules requiring me to start with an empty rule, that's where the trouble begins for me. I save the rules I've picked up from here and from PTI directly (thank you everyone!), but always seem to run across something that doesn't apply to those previous rules, and I have the need to create a new one. Javascript confuses the #(*^#$ out of me... HELP! Thanks!
  13. Excellent! That worked beautifully! Thank you so much!
