  1. Can you elaborate, then, on using the "standard" font family names. The font I need to use, "Trade Gothic Bold Condensed No. 20," isn't showing up anywhere. What would be the "standard" font family name and how do I use it?
  2. Can you elaborate on how to edit the fonts.ini file? I'm having the same issues. What exactly needs to be changed? I can change the name in the first column, but then I can't select it from the font menu. It reverts back the previously selected font when I try.
  3. Yes. But it says "can't open file." Hence, I cannot access it.
  4. I recently saw documentation on a method to compare the current value of a field to the value of the field in the previous record. Now my rules documentation is not available and the only version I've been able to find to download is for FusionPro 6.0. Can someone please tell me what that command is and the syntax for using it?
  5. For some reason I cannot access the Rules documentation since 8.2.7 update was installed. Is there a place I can download that PDF? They are not under the documentation thread of this forum.
  6. Before upgrading to 8.1.2, I could use import data definition to import rules from another document. I would receive a message that it couldn't locate the data file and then be allowed to navigate to the new data file. Now when I receive the message about the missing data file, the import aborts. No rules are imported nor am I given the opportunity to locate a new data file. I now have to open the other file, select the new data file and export the data definition before I can import it to the new file. Is there a better way to do this?
  7. Do any of your rules contain "isPreview"?
  8. They are correct. Postnet barcodes should have either 32 bars for 5-digit zip code, 52 bars for 9-digit zip code, or 62 bars for 9-digit zip code and delivery point. See this reference. Intelligent Mail Barcodes have 65 bars. I don't know anything that has 67. What type of data are you supplying for the postnet barcode rule? Also, what version of FusionPro, which platform (Mac or Windows), and which version of operating system?
  9. We just recently upgraded to VDP Creator v8.0.13 Mac and installed on a new Mac with OSX 10.6.8. Now the Make123BBarcode is generating stop/start characters that are outside the character set for the IDAutomation128L font. I have been able to work around this while tech support is coming up with a solution by replacing the stop and start characters in my rule. I just now discovered, however, that the Make128BBarcode command is also generating check digit characters which are outside the IDAutomation128L character set. It just generated an Æ (AE ligature) check digit for one of my strings. Has anyone else run into any problems with the Make128BBarcode command in 8.0.13 Mac and do you have a work around for it?
  10. Under the Graphics tab of the Composition Settings screen, be sure that you do NOT select "Suppress static PDF background in composition".
  11. I can't imagine why this forum would NOT be the place to track these kinds of issues as I'm sure a significant percentage of users are composing to JLYT. Or at least have been. I have finally been successful in composing to HP PPML with this version and have revised my work flow accordingly. In this case, the reversed background was not an issue with HP PPML.
  12. We just recently upgraded to VDP Creator v8.0.13 and in the process installed on a new iMac (OSX 10.6.8). Our first attempt to compose a job was to open a job created in FP Desktop 7.1 and compose to JLYT for our Indigo 5000. This produced a page with a black background to the edge of the bleed and the page was duplicated to the right and down about 3 inches. When I opened another job and recomposed it to see if it was limited to one job, the second job had virtually the same results with different trim marks. The page from my first job was in my second job instead of the page from my second job. After restarting the iMac, I tried to recompose the second job. This produced the correct results for page 1 of the second job, but page two was identical to page 1 except for the variable text and graphics. Trying to narrow down the cause. I went to the InDesign 5.5 file and re-exported from the FP window to a new document. I set the data file to none and composed it to JLYT with no imposition. This produced a single image of the page but still with a black background. Composition to PDF is correct.
